In a series of unfortunate events, 27-year-old Willie Greenwood, a known repeat offender, has once again found himself in trouble with the law. Greenwood, who was previously arrested for robbing patrons at Bally's temporary casino in Medinah Temple and targeting visitors using the shuttle bus service between the casino and Chinatown, has been charged with new offenses.

The latest incident occurred in a parking garage near a casino, where Greenwood assaulted a 40-year-old man and made away with $2,500 in cash and credit cards. This incident took place shortly after Greenwood's release in April 2025, while he was awaiting trial for an armed robbery of a 65-year-old individual in March.

Judge James Murphy III has ruled that Greenwood must remain in custody until his trial, given the repeated nature of his violent offenses. These new crimes compound his original acts of violence, painting a concerning pattern of criminal activity against casino patrons in the area.

Reports also confirm that Greenwood is charged with multiple casino robberies in Chicago, including a violent attack on a customer in River North. This suggests that Greenwood immediately began targeting patrons again after his release and returned to his old ways after his initial arrest and release.

The police officer who made the arrest matched Greenwood's description based on a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) notice issued in March. Greenwood's repeat offenses necessitate his continued custody to ensure the safety of the public and the justice system.
